Hello everyone! My name is María Camila and I joined Tidewater Tots as a sitter and nanny in December of 2021! I was promoted to manager in July of 2022, where I worked side by side with the previous owner for several months. In January of 2023, I was given the incredible opportunity to purchase Tidewater Tots and my lifelong dream of being a business owner came to life. I feel so fortunate and take so much pride in being a part of such an amazing team of women, all of whom are so passionate about supporting the families in our community.
I am originally from Cali, Colombia, moved to Miami in 2009, and have lived in Virginia Beach for the past 4 years! I have a Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Development; a Conscious Discipline Training through the GrowSmart Foundation; and am currently working towards my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education through TCC. I am a mama to a loving and energetic 2 year-old little human; he is the light of my eyes & my motivation in life. I have worked in childcare for over 7 years and I have 2 years of experience as a preschool lead teacher.
Joining Tidewater Tots as a sitter was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am able to spend more time with my son while continuing to do what I'm most passionate about: providing little ones with nurturing, fun learning experiences, and establishing lasting relationships with my community. I am eternally grateful for the personal and professional growth Tidewater Tots has afforded me, and am honored to carry on it's legacy.
Katelynn Morgans, Manager and Nanny Coordination
Hey there, my name is Katelynn! I’ve been with Tidewater Tots from the very beginning and have had the privilege of not only serving so many wonderful families in the community, but the opportunity to experience so much growth and dedication within the company and the women we work with. I’m so grateful to be on such an empowering and hard-working team of women that love kiddos as much as I do!
I grew up in a military family so I’m from all over and consider many different places home, but I’ve been in the Hampton Roads area for 4 years now. I’m currently a bridal hair and make up artist and absolutely adore it! I look forward to spending my Saturday’s surrounded by so much love and joy and making brides feel like their most confident self. I started babysitting at 14 after taking the Red Cross Babysitting and CPR course and have always had a love for children. In high-school I was a swim instructor and lifeguard, teaching swimming lessons from as little as 6 months to 12 years old and got to celebrate all the kiddos accomplished as they gained new skills and moved up in their lessons. It was then when I realized I couldn’t imagine not working with children! They’re so free-spirited and kind-hearted and bring so much joy to my day-to-day life. I’m truly so in-love with what I do and the opportunities that have been provided to me. In my free time you can also find me curled up with my golden retriever and my cat, Beans, watching a rom-com or taking a much needed nap.
